X Encontro de Economia Baiana abre chamada de artigos a partir de março 

A décima edição do Encontro de Economia Baiana, que acontece nos dias 18 e 19 de setembro de 2014, abre chamada para inscrição de artigos a partir do dia 24 de março, com encerramento do prazo no dia 11 de maio. Em 2014, o Encontro de Economia Baiana comemora 10 anos de debates sobre o desenvolvimento econômico do estado e do país. Esta 10ª edição, realizada, em parceria, pela Superintendência de Estudos Econômicos e Sociais da Bahia (SEI/SEPLAN), o Programa de Pós-Graduação em Economia da UFBA e a Desenbahia – Agência de Fomento do Estado da Bahia, celebra o centenário de nascimento de Rômulo Almeida com o tema Atualizando o debate sobre Planejamento e Estratégias de Desenvolvimento.

Os trabalhos podem ser inscritos em quatro áreas: Economia Baiana, Economia Regional, Financiamento do Desenvolvimento e Planejamento e Estratégias de Desenvolvimento. As normas e ementas já estão disponíveis no site www.eeb.ufba.br. Participe!

Estão abertas as inscrições para o envio de propostas de trabalho (resumos) para os 15 Grupos de Trabalho que compõem a programação oficial do VIII Encontro Nacional da ANDHEP (Associação Nacional de Direitos Humanos, Pesquisa e Pós-Graduação), sob o tema geral "Políticas Públicas para a Segurança Pública e Direitos Humanos".
O prazo para o envio de resumos termina em 17/02/2014.
O VIII Encontro acontecerá na Faculdade de Direito da USP, São Paulo (SP), entre os dias 28 e 30 de abril de 2014.

The Indonesian Regional Science Association (IRSA)

The Indonesian Regional Science Association (IRSA) in collaboration with Hasanuddin University invites scholars, practitioners and graduate students to submit papers to be presented in the 12th Indonesian Regional Science Association (IRSA) Conference in Makassar, South Sulawesi, on June 2-3, 2014 and theme of the conference is Political Economy of Regional Development in Indonesia. 
Potential topics to be discussed in this conference include, but are not limited to: 

• Political economy and governance of regional development
• Public policy, regional and urban planning and regional development 
• Urban, agriculture and rural development
• Poverty, inequality and inter-regional disparities, 
• Housing, education, transportation and other regional infrastructures issues
• Regional/international trade, finance and inflation
• Spatial modelling and simulation.

Extended paper abstract of about 300-500 words should be submitted online via IRSA 2014 conference website. Abstract should consist of background, data and methodology, and potential contribution to knowledge. Please provide keywords and JEL number. Abstract should be in English, as also the full paper.
The deadline for abstract submission is 15 February 2014. Those whose abstracts accepted should submit their full papers by 15 April 2014 and register to attend the conference by 20 April 2014 in order for their paper to be included in the final program.
The conference will have four prominent scholars and experienced practitioners as keynote speakers. Among others are Prof. Armida Alisjahbana (Padjadjaran University / Minister of National Development Planning), Prof. Iwan Jaya Azis (Cornell University / Asian Development Bank), Prof. Anne Booth (SOAS, University of London), and Prof. Ari Kuncoro (University of Indonesia). Paper sessions are seminar-style with a discussant for each paper and time for discussion and for participants to provide constructive feedback to authors. Paper presentations will be in English.

Guidelines for Abstracts

*The Bartholomew award is awarded to scientists aged less than 33 years (including co-authors) on the 15th of July each year, presenting a paper in a session of APDR Congress. The prize is awarded by a jury of appreciation by the Director of the Portuguese Jou rnal of Regional Studies and two scientists appointed by him. The assessment criteria are: conceptual coherence, relevance to regional science and its impact on regional development.
